About

Background

Ecoscholars is an initiative of international scholars hosted by the Ecologic Institute. It is a discussion and networking group located in Berlin. Its members are international researchers, scholars, fellows, and professionals who are involved in climate change, energy, sustainability, and other related environmental fields.

Ecoscholars provides an opportunity for members to get to know each other and discuss and learn about topics they are particularly interested in. In addition, it offers a chance to meet other Berlin-based academics, environmental professionals, members of the business and NGO communities, and government officials and policy makers - both domestic and foreign. Event topics are guided by the interests of the group members.

Ecoscholars operates on a traditional academic calendar, with its kick-off event for "newcomers" during the fall. The formats range from formal events (for example at an embassy or a research institute) to informal gatherings (for example in a relaxed environment over a glass of wine or soda).

Membership

Ecoscholars membership is free. Anybody can join our newsletter here. Subscribers receive periodic invitations to events via email and reminders about our monthly Stammtisch.

Planning events

Members of the Ecoscholars network are encouraged to help plan and host their own Ecoscholars events. If you have an idea of a relevant topic to base an event around, please contact us and we will be happy to assist you as much as possible.
